Hi Adam,
I am imaging for creating my first mosaic, the California Nebula. I have all the images needed for upper half (97x600s from air polluted Hong Kong). For lower half I have about 1/3 of what I want.
-- All images so far were taken in 2021 with my QHY168c (4952 x 3288, 4.8μm). I have all the flats, flat darks, and darks.
-- Now it is 2023 and the QHY is replaced with a ZWO 2600MC pro (6248x4176, 3.76μm) to finish the lower. Calibration files TBD.
I would like to know if the camera change, for completing the last 2/3 of the lower images, is going to cause any problems with creating the calibrated and post processed lower? And if the processed lower should mosaic okay with the upper?.
-- I will take calibration files for the 2600MC when I do the last 2/3 of the imaging.
As I like to learn from your videos, which video series should I start for learning about creating the mosaic?
I am looking for the general outline, and precautions, and your overall suggestions.
Thanks for your time, advice, and as always your expertise!
Roger
