Star Alignment Failure

Hi, recently I've been getting Star Alignment errors where only the reference file was being aligned (to itself, there no problems I assume). The error is always the same

"Unable to find an initial set of putative star pair matches"

When I look at the raw files, tracking looks good. The only thing the stars may not be 100% sharp. Could that be an issue? File is attached.

    These stars are out-of-focus...and will not be detected by PSF fitting algorithms. 
    This is certainly part of the problem. 
    Under Star Detection I think you can force the "Compute PSFs" to never. 
    This *might* help.. but focused stars probably the best solution.

    thanks. Anything that can be done in post-processing to focus them?
    It's my camera, the live-view shows a lot of noise in the dark, and the stars are quivering around even when the telescope doesn't move. So very hard to focus, sometime it works, sometime it doesn't.

    PS - yeah I tried Compute PSF = never. Didn't help.
