Uncheck Local Normalization in the new WBPP when using the Subscription NSG?
This is a simple question, I think - and may have been answered elsewhere. Please accept my apology if it has - I haven’t been able to find it.
I’m wondering about the new Local Normalization in WBPP and the normalization files generated by the subscription NSG.
When using the new subscription NSG, should the Local Normalization be unchecked in WBPP? It seems to me it should, and Adam unchecked it in the most recent Eta Draconis nebula video. Otherwise, 2 different .xnml files - presumably made using different methods - could be created.
I left it checked recently and did not have NWEIGHT in the FITS header - assuming that was my error.
Please correct me if I’m mistaken/confused.
Thanks.
Thank you for the video, Adam. It helped me understand the new implementation of cosmetic correction in WBPP. The default value of 10 seems a little high to me. I guess I’ll have to do some experimentation to find the right value for me.Thank you ag…
Thanks, Adam.
I understand why the PSF Scale SNR weights aren't available until after LN. NSG used to include them in the output filenames.
Feeling a little sheepish - I should have thought about SFS myself. I have seen your videos.
Thanks again f…
Just a quick note of thanks for your recent post re: PSF estimation for BXT.
I'm working on an image of M78, not perfect stars due to less-than-optimal guiding. I'm using BXT to correct the star shape before SPCC (would love your thoughts about t…
There have been a few nice updates to NSG recently. The new Blink section is a great addition obviating the need to exit and go to Blink to choose a reference image. Also, the new post-process image rejection section is quite helpful.
I will admi…
I'm too am hoping you will consider doing a video with GHS. The TAIC talk is informative; I've been trying to get a better sense of how it works empirically with my images. I'd be very interested in your perspective.
I’ve been wondering the same thing. So far, I have stopped WBPP at registration, moved to NSG, then back to image integration based on older videos and the new updates you’ve done recently.
The updated LN process in PI is interesting, but my under…
Thanks for this discussion, very helpful.
I updated PI last night and installed NSG as a separate script and read what I could find about the change. I guessed that if anyone had compared the output from the new LN and NSG, I’d find it here. Seems…
