3 minute exposures are an interesting question. Having just gotten this AVX mount I'm working my way up in terms of exposure times. I do not currently have any guiding hardware so I'm limited to how well I do polar alignment and after that how well …
BTW - to be clear I did NOT mean adding any rc-astro tools to the actual FastTrack training. I only meant having done FastTrack where might I add them into that basic flow, if anywhere.
Wade - Like you I am a Kubuntu user so it seems we are seeing similar issues.
I'm slowly getting through Adam's new videos. Sorting them into directories seemed to work fairly well for grabbing a reasonable number of files and keeping it all straig…

Great explanations. Thanks.
I'm not meaning to complain. It's just a bit different than the previous FastTrack data and I was surprised. Having the dates getting intermingled is likely to make Blinking before alignment more problematic but it's not…

Old discussion but I did eventually get this SkyWatcher AZ-GTi mount running in equatorial mode with 60 second subs. Stacking is much more efficient and the results are better.
BTW - I completely agree with the comment as to getting a better mount. However I'm in the learning phase and don't mind the minor frustrations this mount causes me to endure while learning. I suspect when I do buy a new mount I'll be a lot more edu…
Thanks for the answer. I think there's some good potential here. The software I'm using (KStars & Ekos - Open Source stuff) does have the ability to append a time stamp. Possibly a simple Python program that understands the time stamp well enoug…
