DBE correction

Hi;  I was reviewing content as I am (finally) getting back to processing some data.
I noted your point about using division as correction in DBE given that most of the time there are flat field issues rather than added light.  Yet i've seen a few more recent videos (PixTV and Horizon) where you use subtraction.  Maybe I missed that for those specific examples you felt there was added light?  Just checking that you still recommend division as usual correction?

  • Yes, I have changed my tune. DBE is simply undefined in several fundamental ways.
The results are similar no matter whether you use subtraction or division..but division requires normalization to bring back the sky level and keep the colors.  So... I give up.

I need to make a section that indicates I lost this war. Neutralize background in PCC does not do what I think... (it is multiplicative). So... if I can, I go ahead and do DBE first with subtraction and live my life.
