Website Layout Tree suggestions.

Adam,

First of all, I want to say thank you so much for the training videos. They are amazing and so easy to follow along. I feel like my PI skills have improved greatly.
But the website is a bit difficult to navigate, I'm sure because the amount of content has grown so much since you first started it.
For example:
After logging in I want to get straight to my "Fundamentals" class. In order to do that I first have to click on "THE PLANS" then click on "PIXINSIGHT FUNDAMENTALS" Which for some reason brings me to a page that gives me the choice of "Fundamentals" or "Horizons" so I then have to choose "Fundamentals" again. Only then am I able to select the chapter from the list.
A much easier path would be to click on "My Account" and be given the choice to select "Fundamentals" (Or whatever courses I've paid for.) and bring my directly to the chapter page.
Once on a chapter page such as "PixelMath" there are 5 video parts. After clicking on "An Introduction" it would be nice to have a link for "Next" to take the user to the second video in the chapter, "Gradients" (single click)
As it is, you have to click on "Pixel Math" at the top, then remember which video of the 5 you just watched and select the next video. (two clicks)

Just a humble suggestion from an old web designer...

  • Along similar lines, my feature request would be to be able to register for an email notification for whenever you post new content.
  • Thanks for the suggestions.
I am limited in some ways in terms of organization due to the backend stuff.
However, I think I am continue to try to move towards some improvements.

Wade: concerning notification, I would think most people would strongly dislike this!
This is why I have the running list of uploaded content on the members page (the first page you see when you log in).

  • I know that most people would probably not like the email notifications, which is why I requested it as an option.

Regarding the login page, I let the site remember my credentials, so the only way that I can see the list of new content is to log out and then log back in.  This is a bit inconvenient.  I also visit the forums almost every day, but don't go to the main site unless I am looking for content.

The most common workflow is that I read the forums daily.  Then, once a week or so, I go to the main site, log out, and log back in - and most of the time, there's no new content to get.  The purpose of an email would be to know when to go and get new content.
