Frame tilted after star alignment

I have several frames that are tilted after star alignment leaving black gaps along the edges. However I can tell the frames are still aligned when I put one over the other. Do I just not worry about this and crop the image after integrating it or is there something else I can do?

  • This is normal. Typically you crop these out because even if you could some how adjust things- the signal to noise will be different in these regions since you do not have all frames contributing. There is a special case where you *do* have enough information and *maybe* you can use a tool like gradientmosaic or photometric mosaic scripts to try to match fit the intensity in these regions.

However, bottom line- if the edges are a small fraction of the frame and not important, I would crop and move on with life.
