Please show the progress of watched videos

Hi Adam,

every Video platform in these days, like YouTube, can show you, how much you already watched of a video. Please add this functionality. I really like your videos, but as there are so many, it is sometimes hard to remeber, where I stopped.

Thanks, Rainer

  • Interesting idea.
I am not sure my host company can do this..but I will ask.
You are asking for some method of knowing which videos you have watched?
(I think the place within a single video is simply remembered in your browser's cache.)
    Let me know!

  • Rainer,

OK... I enabled something that might help.
Now articles (pages with the videos) will have a "Heart" symbol. If you click on it- it will add the article to your favorites list. Then when you go under your "My Account" section... you can see all of the things you clicked on. This will, at least, show which videos you are visited.

I don't think this is the full thing you want- as it will not show how much of a particular video...
but maybe this is a start.

  • Thanks for the answer. Again, best would be, I can see per video where I stopped the last time. But the favorite icon is a good idea.

    Cheers, Rainer
  • Yeah..the per video thing isn't an easy one (basically no feature on hand does this). But...I will keep my eye out for other features.

  • I'm stuck having to use a satellite connection at home and my observatory for internet access so I download everything at work on it's faster connection to watch later. To keep track of where I left off, I use the free and excellent VLC Media Player from videolan.org along with an addon, Moments Tracker - https://addons.videolan.org/p/1154020
It allows you to set checkpoints to mark and label positions within the videos to resume later.
  • ooooh...nice! Thank you for posting that solution.
