stretching comparison on galaxy (masked/seti_astro/BB script)

Hello all,
i am an absolute beginner and started Astrophotography a few months ago.
Now it is my first time to process a galaxy taken with my edgeHD 9.25 (0.7 reducer), OSC.
My goal is to stretch M81 in the way that the huge core area is more visible. And to be honest i did not watch full stretch academy yet. I watched many many hours of videos so far and at the moment i am kinda tilt. I will not try to stretch manually yet because i need way more experience and way more hours of videos.
On Nebulas i already got awesome fotos with standard stretch tools.
I attached a file of only 1 night of M81 just for the test of the different stretch methods (i just did ADBE, SPCC, BlurXT and NoiseXT).
I usually go with statistical stretch from seti astro and i really like it.
On the picture you can see:

left: Bill Blanchet linked stretch script: core area is blown out as expected.
middle: Seti Astro statistical stretch: Core is a bit blown out.
right: masked_stretch and the core looks awesome.

So the masked stretch does exactly what i hoped for.

But if you look at the stars and the colors the differences are huge. the stars are only looking good at the statistical_stretch. On the masked stretch (and bb script) i could not use it at all. On the other hand the colors in general of bb_script and masked stretch look way better then on statistical_stretch.
So i am really overwhelmed and i have no idea what to do. I do not get why a stretch makes the stars that fuzzy.

I am thinking of cloning and doing a masked_stretch and take that as starless_view and do a statistical_stretch and take those stars for my star view.
That just seems a bit crazy to me so i wanted to check if maybe someone here can give me a beginners tip to solve that in the right way.
