Image solver issue

I am using a Celestron Origin and the plate scale for resolution 1.477 and pixel size 2.4. I have used the Image solver before with another image and it successfully worked. I captured M101 with 345 light frames and had a stacked final master image. I used the RA and Dec from several different light frames(345 total) as well as time of capture. I have watched Adam's Fundamentals several times to be sure I was doing everything correcting. Distortion unchecked, limit at default 12 (also set at higher and lower levels with no success), full DR3 catalogs downloaded on desktop, not in PI folder, active image in image solver was master stacked final by Celestron Origin. On the master stacked image I used the several different RA and Dec readings from the light frames and the different observation times with no success.

The error continuously shows: only 5 stars detected, minimum of 6 needed.

Please help, this is very frustrating after watching video after video, forums, you name it. Thank you,

I do not think you can upload to this forum at the moment. You can e-mail me directly with the

files... you can also (please) make the actual image available for download by putting on a cloud drive somewhere (google drive etc). Remember to make the link accessible to everyone.

Can you make the actual M101 XISF file available to me?

It appears to me this is probably an image quality issue.

But...I will understand once you get the file to me...just make another link with the actual file.

I hope this is what you need. This is using File Explorer.

Origin app has settings I have selected: AI post process, AI gradient removal, Denoise live images, Denoise Final Images, Save Raw Images(Light Frames). I have AI Deconvolution disabled.

I wonder if the Denoise affects the star detection.

Anyway, you need to save the image you have in you project to your computer as an XISF file (the default) and then upload that file.

Yes, that is what was needed.

The answer is there.

You need to zoom into your data... like 300% (3:1).

You will see that every star in your image is an out-of-focus star-donut.

As part of diagnosing a problem you should look at your images closely including zooming in.

I can show that I get exactly the issue that you do on your data.

However, if I run your image through BlurXTerminator- it will have much better stars.

The image then solves instantly as expected.

So this is an image quality issue. PixInsight does not recognize donuts for stars... so the error makes sense that it cannot find any stars in the image.

I am sorry it took this long to give you the answer. Providing the actual image initially would have let me tell you this in the amount of time it took me to open the image and examine the stars.
