Creating a template

Have been working through 'Fundamentals' and have progressed to Batch Pre-processing. Have watched the section on 'templates and icons' several times but seem to have a mental block (no pun intended!) about how to set up a template of the various process icons I will commonly use. Have tried opening them and then saving as a project but get an error message: Win32 error?  What haven't I grasped?  I should also say how much I'm enjoying your tutorials.

  • HI Pamela,

Hmmm... I am not certain without seeing more. The two basic ways to do things are:

    1. Make a collection of process icons and save the set of them as something you load to your workspace.
    2. Save a project with all of the process icons already loaded. This project I call a template (perhaps a bad name). I like this method because I can also save images and things I might want to have in my workspace as well.
    3. There are probably even better ways of doing this I am not familiar with!

Just make certain your are saving your project to a "normal place" on your computer (e.g. not in a Windows system directory or something). Or it could be you found a bug.

  • Ever felt stupid!! I realised that I had named my project but totally forgotten about specifying a 'normal place'

Sorry but thanks for such a quick response.
