CFA Drizzle Failed

Hi,
I was following along with the FastTrack CFA Drizzle video but when I clicked the Apply Global button I got this...

Can anyone help? Thanks, Jim

  • Hmm... that looks like you did not add the local normalization files. Did you?

  • I tried again. I clicked the Add L.Norm files button, selected all of the .xnml files but they do not appear in the Input data list with the .xdrz files. I set scale to 1, Checked that the Enable CFA drizzle box was ticked and tried again. Same result.
  • That is an issue. Every file should have an <n> and an <x>.
But I do not know who you arrived at this point.
It basically means that PixInsight things the drizzle files and normalization files are referring to two different original files- so they don't match.

If you want to get very technical... you can open the XNML file and the XDRZ file in Notepad. In the header (top of the text file) you will see a line item for target frame. They need to refer to the same files on your computer.

Is there anything you might have done which would change the name or location of files?

  • Target frames are the same in .xnml and .xdrz files.

I don't remember messing with file names or locations.
Not to worry. Perhaps I messed up something earlier. I will carry on with the course undrizzled!
    Thanks for looking, Jim
  • Hmm... I would like to know the answer...
Please let me know when you discover it.
It could be a mistake I made... or something I did not consider.

  • You haven't messed up Jim.  I have the same issue.  Stephen
  • Just to be clear... you did run the files through ImageIntegration first and updated both the drizzle files and the local normalization files? This is done before Drizzle Integration.

(We are talking about the manual method here correct? Not the full automated WBPP section... )

  • I'm afraid I've deleted all of my generated files now to free up space so I can't check what I did. I remember doing Image Integration and I remember creating and updating drizzle files. I can't be sure I updated local normalization files. Perhaps Stephen can answer your question? Jim

  • I fixed the issue..Step 9 was referring to the OLD video!!

I have now updated Step 9 with the current ImageIntegration Lesson!!
  • I'll take a look.

    Thanks, Jim
  • I tried all of the steps again up to and including the CFA Drizzle step following your latest videos. I was processing some of my own data. This time everything worked as described.

    Thanks, Jim
  • Good...
    *sigh*

This is what happens when updating videos.
    It gets...complicated!
