Colored dark frame pixels

Numerous colored (r, g, and b) pixels are scattered throughout a debayered master dark frame obtained with a Sony IMX178LQJ camera (Celestron Origin scope). The solid color you showed on the recent "...Regular CC... video is not seen. Should the regular CC be used rather than the auto cc for this master dark?

I was not able to attach an image of the dark to this post. When I tried a barber shop striped banner appeared saying "Uploading", however, no image was loaded after 15-20 minutes. I tried uploading with:

iPad Pro iPadOS 18.3.1
MacBook Pro M1 Pro Séquoia 15.3.1
iMac M1 Sequoia 15.2

As I mention in the video- equal amounts of RGB values ... basically noise- which is a neutral color is expected. The AUTOCC is fine in your case.

What could I say to make that clearer in the video?

  • I guess I should have shown a "normal" dark...but I thought most people have seen these.

  • I missed your saying ""equal amounts of RGB values". That clear enough, although showing a "normal" debayered dark would have hammered it home for those of us that are a bit inattentive at times.

BTW after I sent this email I opened some of your videos and had some pauses. Perhaps the inability to download images and the pauses are related.
