Interview with Russ Croman on NXT2 AI3

Wow!  This was an incredible interview with Russ.  I really appreciate his devotion to creating these "game changing" tools for us to use.

My favorite part was watching his process of tuning NXT to reduce noise, yet not losing the interesting parts of the nebula.  It gives me great insight on how to maximize the use of the tool.  Thank you so much for providing this for us.  This is the kind of thing that confirms the value of my investment in ABS!

    He is what we call a "disrupter" in the tech field. A very good one!  Wish I could get involved with that project. Eventually he will put Pixinsight out of business.

    Scott...hmm, that isn't my take. Russ is an innovator. These tools are certainly part of the ecosystem- but nothing that would "put PixInsight out of business." BlurXTerminator in particular is so specialized and deeply "researched"/developed that PI couldn't possibly spend that kind of time on any one thing. 

    I seems to me that Mr. Marek is fitting that bill precisely. He appears to literally be building the application by community request in real time- replicating most of PixInsight's fundamental processes. I just wonder when he pulls the plug and starts looking for coin. When does "altruism" turn to something else? We will see...

    I knew that Mr. Croman had to be behind the scenes training new AI models like mad to find improvements on what was already a fantastic tool. It was a very helpful interview. I do have one question though concerning selecting the AI3 model from within BXT. Doesn't matter if I hit the reset button or select AI3 from the Select AI menu it always loads with the AI model 2. Probably something simple I am missing but how can I make it default to AI3?
