Preparation for Monochrome Imaging

Hi Adam,

I put in a pre-order for the new QHY miniCAM8 earlier this week. This will be my first time imaging with a monochrome camera and filters. Pretty excited, but I understand there is a massive learning hurdle in my astrophotography journey moving forward.

I am asking if you could provide me with some suggestions about preparing and successfully using a monochrome camera with filters. I know for sure I will need to use NINA to control everything as my ZWO ASIAIR Pro doesn't support my miniCAM8.

    After sitting on it for a few days, I've re-thought that perhaps my initial post was too "direct". Apologies about that.

    I've been doing research my end anyway. All good.

    Ah...sorry- I have been very busy as of recently.
    Equipment stuff (acquisition) is the side I generally do not speak a lot on. It requires an understanding of the specific equipment, needs and environment. There are just so many variables.
    The best advice, for a given set of equipment and situation... is simply practice.
