Just Finished Adam's PI Fundamentals

Hello Everyone,
This is my first post on this forum. I know Adam from the original RCOS forum! I have had a great setup with an RCOS 16" Ion Milled scope for the last 20 years. However living here in Wisconsin makes it very problematic to image much. Over the years, I haven't had too much interaction in the Astrophotography  community so surprisingly(to me) I just found out about PI a month ago. I was VERY impressed with PI and the way Adam presented it. Also, since I have such rare opportunities to image because of the weather here, I recently started taking some remote images via Telescope live. I am eagerly looking forward to useing some of these images while practicing PI. Thanks Adam, it took a lot of time and work to present the lessons! I greatly appreciate them. I will move on to Horizons and Cosmic Canvas, and plan on practicing now that I can image free from my Wisconsin weather! Dean

    Thank you for the comment! I am glad you found the material useful. 
    Indeed, I plan on sending out an e-mail to all customers at some point very soon.
    One of the questions that interests me is what other subjects that would be appropriate to Fundamentals should I put there? There are likely some obvious things that are primary and I have not covered. SubFrameSelector is one...but I honestly do not find it super useful... but that is me. 

    I will be uploading a new section in Fundamentals in a few moments... it is on the LFHH script- which I think people show know about.

    Thanks Adam. I just subscribed to Horizons yesterday and am not following it step by step(in order) like I did in Fundamentals. I looked at your tutorial on NGC 6946 and found it to be absolutely great. An image with many issues and not great data was masterfully processed!     Great job for a first image!
    I would enjoy seeing more color in the bright (especially central) parts. If you meant this to not have so much color... then that is style. If this was the "result" of the steps you took, it is likely there are some other paths to explore! Again- my first CCD image (25+ years ago) didn't have any color... so you are really cooking with gas.

    Thanks Adam,
    Actually, I did deemphasize the blues in the central region as, to me it looked more natural the way in which I presented it. Also, I used no deconvolution or noise reduction as I felt the signal was so good, and the detail was excellent. As always, any comments, or disagreements are welcome, as I have always valued your opinion/expertise(also, I am very thick skinned lol). Dean
