Veil Nebula

Hi Adam. I hope this message finds you well.

I’m photographing the Veil nebula (Pickering’s triangle) with a monochrome camera. I have 4hrs of Luminance data and thinking about acquiring Ha and OIII data to prepare a final image, rather than red, green, and blue filter images. Is this a sound plan? Will I have problems with star colour in the final image?

This is the issue with narrowband. There are to many ways to do it. Many different combinations of data and techniques. However, I do address part of the question in my latest videos. I demonstrate the way to generate colored stars with NB data...which is exactly what you are asking.

So.. you can get colored stars.

As to how well the L will be colored by the NB...that is another story. (worth trying)
