RGB dataset - combine with NB data

Hello everyone,

I learned a lot from Stretch Academy and the Fundamental Videos...

But I need a little help combining my "deep" and good RGB data with even better Ha and OIII data.
I am lucky that i have a very dark sky and i take a lot of time for every image.
Sure – RGB is used for good star colors.
But is it only necessary for stars – or also for nebulae?

Is there a lesson regarding my question?

    There is a lesson. 
    It is in my head. (otherwise...no, not yet. This is what Horizons is for...)
    I hope to demonstrate when I have my own telescope in play.
    I don't like the way people do this- I think many have lost their way.
    However, I do not have this kind of data to demonstrate. The funny thing about my position... I do not have my own telescope... been alive for 50+ years... still never had my own. 
    I am working to change this as quickly as I can.

    Right now I'm trying the "NRGB Combination" or "NBA Color Mapper" scripts.
    It works, but getting a good result is again a scientific matter.

    Would it be possible to use some iTelescope data to illustrate a good technique?  I have the California Nebula in LRGB and SHO calibrated frames, as well as the masters produced by WBPP.  Would these help?

    I think the issue here is experience. I am no different than anyone else...in that I need practice too! Even if I had the data in hand..I would need to do this kind of processing multiple times to refine best practices even though I think I know in principle how to approach it.

    This is why I want my own telescope (damn it!). :)
    I think if I have my own system...I can finally develop innovative processing techniques... (as I used to more productively in the past) because I will have more opportunities to work with this kind of data for example.

    The comet processing is a very good example of this. Yes, I produced some initial videos on this kind of processing..but it took me a year to really start to nail down key aspects- can I think there is still room for improvement.

    Anyway, I think the point is I do not want to produce content that I feel I am not really expert in. I think I have some chops to get there...but it takes time as with anything else.

    P.S. If people really want me to be expert in *everything*... I think some extra support for getting a telescope would help! lol  :) :)

    I think a lot of people use Ha and OIII data to “push” their RGB set.
    For this reason the “NRGB combination script” was created.

    But I think there are several ways to get there.

    So I wait...

    And in the meantime, if anyone needs a good set of RGB-Ha-Oiii data to try this out, I'm happy to send it...
