WBPP Mono Workflow - Question on Registration

Hi,
I have only used WBPP for OSC workflows but I'm going to give mono a try to see if I want to head down that path in the future. My question has to do with registration of the individual channels. If I was working with LRGB data for example, would the four master light frames be aligned with one another, or only aligned with data in their respective channels? Just wondering if I would need to register the four frames post-WBPP or if I would be good to go for processes such as linear fit and BlurXterminator.

Thanks,
Jim

  • Yes, WBPP will pick one reference frame automatically (unless you specify with manual). Typically this will be a luminance frame (if you are actually acquiring one) because the signal is brightest.  So you will have all files aligned.

Regarding Linear Fit for purposes of color balance... pls pls banish this from your vocabulary. No members of ABS do this. Certainly not after watching my Screed on this topic.

it is an oldy but goody...
