Color Calibration / SPCC while using PixelMath / NBColorMapper in the end

Adam, if we practically end up using pixelmath combinations or NBColorMapper (Narrowband imaging) , does it make any sense to calibrate the color first? I mean, SPCC will provide to us the answer for scientific, real etc. values , but then we will "manipulate" those values with the other tools.

  • My opinion is no. It does not make sense to get flux calibrated images before doing the other stuff we do.
I address this question specifically in this video:
    Did you watch it?

  • Yes I've seen it day one and remember clear your excitement, BUT I've missed the key point 05:55 [...] goes away! [...].

So practically for NB imaging, we could or we should Color Calibrate our image if we do not alter further the channels, for example just go with a simple ChannelCombination.

    Thank you Adam once again!
