Removing stars from Ha with a mask

Followed your procedure.  6 layers on MLT and MMT.  I am still left with large stars, dark core with white annulus.  What do you suggest?

    I assume you binarized your mask? Also, if stars have dark core... it means the star images in the mask are simply not large enough. There isn't anything special about 6 layers. You might need to go up a bit more. Again, without seeing any images... it is hard to say.

    Thank you for your reply.  I did as you suggested.  Increased the star size in the mask and increased layers to 7.  It worked.
