Batch edit for .fits files?

gregory miller

Hi Adam:
I recently made a new master dark library. Without realizing it at the time, I mistakenly configured the exposure sequence in NINA as light frames rather than darks. Loading these frames into WBPP last night was causing problems as WBPP was reading the .fits header as a light frame rather than a dark and was putting them in the "lights" panel. After I figured out the problem, I had to manually go into the .fits header and change the value from "light" to "dark" for fifty frames. Yikes!

Is there a way to do a batch edit on the .fits file for a group of images?

Thanks very much for any suggestions. Gregory B. Miller

  • Well.. there is a batch edit solution... BUT, you don't need to do this in terms of this one-time issue.
You can just force WBPP to load the frames as dark frames by pressing the "Darks" button to load them. Please review my WBPP material (and/or FastTrack Training). That is the difference between loading with the "Files or Directory" and the individual buttons which force the type and ignore the header. Finally you can also force it with the Custom button is well... but the Darks button is all you need I believe.

If I am wrong, please send along a screenshot.
