WBPP not using my bias frames

Adam,

I've begun using iTelescope to capture some southern objects... this is my first attempt.  I've downloaded all the LRGB light frames and master bias, darks and flats.  The lum images were taken at BIN 1x1 and the RGB frames at BIN 2x2.  I've got the calibration masters for both 1x1 and 2x2.

All works well with WBPP, except I can't get the bias masters to calibrate the flat frames (see attached).  I've reviewed your recent WBPP videos and have tried a number of things, but it won't do it.  According to your video, they should match automatically if the dark frame's exposure is not equal to the flat frame exposure.

So, after a couple of hours of trying... here I am.  Any ideas?

  • From your screen shot, it looks like you're using master flats. You don't need bias frames. Look at the calibration diagrams and you should see how WBPP is doing the processing. Looks like all you need to do is click the run button.
  • Yep, master flats are CALIBRATED images... no more calibration to be done that uses the biases.
    Great answer @Ray Hansen

  • Thanks Ray and Adam!

I guess that I have to assume that iTelescope calibrated the flats correctly... which they probably do.  As you may know, they give you the option of downloading all raw data, calibrated flats and darks, or the fully calibrated lights.  I'm trying to decide which is the best option... to trust their process or not.

I would love to hear if others have had any experience...
