ImageIntegration Reference Image

I'm going though the integration sections and have probably a dumb question, or at least coming from a dumb place since until it was mentioned in passing in one of the videos, I had somehow never noticed the "Set Reference" option in ImageIntegration......Maybe not a problem since I always put my 'best' image first in the list, but now that I read the tool tip, I wonder, should it simply be my best sub, or should I include and set as a reference my local normalization reference which is an integration of the best 10 or so subs (based on PSF Signal Weight)? I'm still doing image integration manually?

    In Image Integration the reference is used as a basis for normalization and weighting. This is particularly useful for relative weighting schemes (its weight will be "1"). 
    The choice of reference is only to help understand the output. Mathematically the answers are the same regardless of the image chosen to be the reference.

    Thanks Adam! For Local Normalization, I usually use an integration (10 best) as opposed to a single image. Is it also appropriate to use an integration as the reference image for ImageIntegration?

    Sorry, I might not understand the question.
    In image integration you would not be loading an image you are not combining (stacking). 
    So you would not be including the LN reference as a reference frame for ImageIntegration. 
    You just pick one of the subs. The math remains the same no matter which subframe you pick as a reference- the only thing that changes are the relative values between frames such as the weights and things.

    Thanks again! That's all as I thought, and have been doing, but when I noticed the Set Reference option for the first time, I started overthinking things.....
