adding a script in pixinsight for a seminovice

Hello,
I am trying to add a script manually to Pixinsight/src/scripts.

I download the javascript, create a new folder manually and extract the javascript into that.
Then when I go to Add the script (Feature script->Add) I am told no files are found in the newly downloaded folder?
But I see the folder and script in a separate file folder window.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

  • HI Brook,

This is one of those things that cannot be solved without seeing your computer (situation).
    Some rules:

    1. The best way to do this is get the repository URL if it exists and let PixInsight manage this.
    2. If you already have a copy of the script in some form- it will not update (or see a new addition). You might need to rename/delete an older version.
    3. In windows (you did not say), extracting to a directory can be problematic if in the Program Files ("protected") area. You can always put the script somewhere else on your computer (especially to test this situation).

  • Thanks,
It's the GAME script. I certainly don't have it already.
I'll try and get the URL and work through repositories.

    Brook,

Here's the URL for the GAME script:

Go to Resources / Updates / Manage Repositories and add the link... then perform a "check for updates"

  • It works now,
    Thanks

  • I would like to add... in several places I show a screenshot of my current repository list.
This might be something to consider mirroring...
