File Explorer in PI

Hi friends!
I was using PI for a couple of years, but took Adam'm course now to learn things "the right way". However, already in the first video I ran into trouble:
PI file explorer wouldn't find the external volumes, where I store my data. I use Mac (M1 processor).
In Adam's tutorial, you should click on the ">" symbol, but when I do so, there are still no option to choose an external drive.
In Adam's video, it looks like follows:   "/ I > " or other drive, say "/ C  "   but on my Mac it shows:    "/ >  ",   i.e. no volume is shown to start with. 

I was trying to find the way to localize external drives, but was not able to find.   
NB! There is an option "volumes" under System catalogue, but these are not the external volumes but something else.

    You know what ..I hate Mac. Sorry... this is stupid.
    Could a Mac person please respond with the answer?
    I do not have a Mac and I hate being surprised by this...I assumed that the experience would be the same for everyone within PI...this was the whole point.

    Oh well, there will probably be plenty of people that could respond to that by saying, "You know what. ..I hate Windows."  Ha!

    There is a little box in the bottom menu bar of File Explorer with a .X in it for Show Hidden Files.  Make sure it is highlighted.  The Volumes should then show up.

    Thank you for the answer!!
    The ".X" does not affect the visibility of the drive letters on Windows and drives are not files... 
    but as long as it works!

    MacOS doesn't use drive letters like Windows does.  It uses "Volumes" for the drives and are named by the user whatever name they want, which I guess are treated like files.  Anyway, yes it works.
