Reference frame in Comet Subtraction and Stars Only Integration Part 1 (OSC)

Hi Adam,
When you set up ImageIntegration and later DrizzleIntegration in the "Comet Subtraction and Stars Only Integration Part 1", you didn't set the reference frame (#107).  Is setting the reference frame in these processes not necessary?

Thanks,
Xavier

  • No.. I do not think you need to set our special frame for the integration of the images. The normalization information is encoded in the Local Normalization files (XNML) which thereby specifies our reference that we used when we generated these files. This is subtle though... but I do not think it matters since we have the files XNML files.

  • Ok, I see. It would be redundant with the XNML files.

    Thanks!

  • Yeah..I think so. But... you are now in the deeper end of the pool where I start to make mistakes... so if you can think of a reason why I would need to maintain the reference... let me know.
