in PixInsight
I have downloaded the Gaia DR3 and Gaira DR3/SP to my hard drive but am unable to install them in PixInSight since they are not listed in the Gaia Data Release dropdown menu (see screen shot). I am using the most recent version of PixInSight - 1.8.9-1. Any thoughts about how to resolve this issus so the catalogs can be installed. I have sent a similar message to PixInSight.

    Hi Mike,

    This is not correct for the current version of PixInsight. You say you are up-to-date... BUT, I do not believe you are. First, please check your repositories (Resources->Updates->Manage Repositories). All of the official PixInsight URLs have to have the 1..8.9-1 .. you might have some old ones there! Remove them and replace accordingly.

    Otherwise, you will need to fix things with this procedure:

    Hi, I am just starting out too and same issue with step 2. I checked the respositories and it says i have 1.8.9-1 so it is definitely the latest version.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi John,

    If you do not see the DR3 and DR3/SP in your drop down...it is 100% the case that your installation is not the latest and/or the updates are not complete. 

    I just had another member with this issue- and they followed the directions above and it worked. However, they were initially skeptical since it didn't seem to change anything after they installed the latest version. But once they installed all of the updates, rebooted their machine (and thereby restarted PixInsight) it DID work and they were happy. 

    So in your case John- the issue is you have not gotten all of the updates. You need to check for updates- make certain you are given many to download... and then reboot and restart (just to be certain).

    I had the same issue after installing  the commercial version of PI. 
    I had to go to Resources/Updates
    I had to tell it to check for updates
    Hit ok when it finishes then shutdown PI
    It asks to restart PI hit ok then the DR3 and DR3/SP showed up and installed as advertised.
