Program stop in WBPP

I posted this in the pixinsight forum yesterday. I thought I would ask here as well while I was waiting for any response.

I am working along the M51 tutorial, and have LN set to interactive mode in WBPP. I excluded a frame for the reference and clicked generate. When I then click on select, PI halts with no information. What did I miss?

  • I am not certain.. but I do wonder about the path length.
Did you adjust this on your machine (do you have the warning with diagnostics)?

  • No warning with diagnostics, but I did the registry edit and I still halt with the "reference to undefined property" message. It creates a blue reference file, then abends on the green set. If I forego interactive mode, it runs to normal term.

An aside - this has been one of the most useful tutorials I've been through. And blurXT is amazing.
Thanks for your effort on this one.
  • I fear you might need to go the official forum for this question. I have not seen it- and it is not obvious to me what is wrong.

I would suggest that you should (if you have not done this)- start the WBPP from scratch. Literally reset WBPP, set the cache to 0 and delete the files it generated in the previous try (tries) you did. I fear this might be a cacheing issue confusion thing (perhaps a bug)... but not a fundamental issue if you start from clean.

If this is not the case..and you started from scratch... then I really don't know.

  • I did rerun from scratch, with the same result. I've also run several of my datasets without any issues. It may be some particular corruption with the file download. No response yet from the PI forum.
