Starless deconvolution

edited October 2022 in PixInsight
So I have a TOA150 with an ASI 6200 MM; tight round small stars….
And my dumb question for the day is, can I perform the deconvolution on a Nebula using a starless image now that star exterminator works on nonlinear?
……..Using a Synthetic luminance

  • Yes, you can. I use this method very often since the introduction of SXT. You just need to experiment with the parametric psf option. Please see Adam's recent video on this subject.
  • or you can use the stars of you image to obtain the psf of your system but this needs to be modified somewhat as per Adam's video on this subject, in order to achieve a meaningful result.
