Column Defect

ATIK Just repaired my QSI 683 mono imaging camera.  I now have two column defects not there when I shipped it to Portugal for fixing.  I am a devoted CCD Stack user.  Does this program have a solution to my newly acquired issue?

  • It does... I think I have a section on that. You can use the math compiler to take care of it.
    Please see this section:

  • Adam - you truly are always part of the solution and never part of the problem.  Two questions

    1. I do not drizzle - will pixel math still work - if not does the first approach handle it then.

    2. If I apply either technique, must I do it to all darks, just a composite dark and or some method I haven't learned from your tutorial here
  • Hi Frank,

    1. If you do not DITHER (not drizzle .. .lol), you have to use the first method (with either interpolation or missing value). You will be creating a repair map to use on your Light Frames.

    2. On the second method do you apply the repair map to the dark frame. By putting missing values in the dark frame.. you will be putting missing values in each Light frame when you calibrate with this master dark. But this REQUIRES you are using many frames with dithering.

I suggest, make certain you can do the first method. The second method will then make sense.
