Pixelized picture in the linear state

Hi,
I have a Problem in PI, I don't understand the reason for:
E.g.: my last picture of KjPn8 and the Bubble Nebula in SHO, with almost 50 h of exposure, the single master stacks showed a pixelized appearance after using the STF.
After I took the triangle to the Histogramm Transformation and executed the stretch, the picture was perfectly smooth.
What is that and how can I get a smooth picture before stretching?
By the way...: The problem doesn't appear in every project, I do.

Thank's in advance,

Christian

  • Screenshots of the effect are probably necessary- but when you are zoomed out ,the STF of images is not perfect and can have different kinds of patterns. Remember the *SCREEN* transfer function is a rendering for your screen... but when you permanently do the stretch- it isn't going to be interpolating the same values.

I believe if you zoom in 1:1 ... things will make more sense in terms of the before and after.
