Hi Adam
I was just playing around with different ways of combining the L and RGB data of an object to see how the results would differ, it at all. I did the traditional way of LRGB Combination (check the L box and uncheck RGB) and also tried using PixelMath with a simple L+RGB. The results were completely different with the PM image completely blown out. Now, if I did a 0.5L + 0.5RGB it gave me a decent image and using 0.2L + 0.8RGB gave me an even better image. I realize a lot would depend on the initial stretch of both the L and RGB images but...........
1- I was expecting a straight 1:1 of L+RGB in PM to give me a similar image to the LRGB Combination process - it did not
2- Instead, I had to use half (0.5) of each image in PM to get a similar image when compared to the LRGB Combination process.
So, does that mean the LRGB Combination process is not simply an additive process?
I'm just curious why the differences even though this is not normal practice.
