Ran through the deconvolution process following the videos. I had a one shot color stack of M33. Extracted the lum and used it first to create a PSF. Picked about a dozen stars, all were Gaussian and MAD in the high -4 to low -3 exponent range. I then stretched that same lum with HT and created the object mask. Did a star mask from the original RGB image and created the Local Support image. Finally ran deconvolution, using several previews first. I ran it on the RGB image instead of the Lum, not sure that makes a difference.
Found optimum setting of .01 to get a little improvement in the image with only a little light haloing. The improvement is subtle but real. This was the first time I’d done deconvolution and actually used the result! Finished processing.and although i wasn’t happy with the color - gotta study those processes more - I was very pleased with sharpness. Many pinpoint stars within the galaxy.
Right now this seems a lot like work or school :-) but I expect it’ll come easier with practice.
