Just downloaded all the star charts and I'm trying to load them into PixInsight version 1.8.8-5. In Fast Track video Adam shows both in Process-> All Processes. I'm not seeing it. Is it located somewhere else. Thanks
You need to remove your old version of PixInsight and reinstall the latest version. Make certain you log into your PixInsight account and download the new version first before touching your current version. Please see the screenshot (I attempted to foresee this issue and mitigate it to the best of my abilities... :) )
I have a new MacBook Pro with Big Sur IOS. Its not accepting any versions later than PixInsight 1.8.8-5. I tried downloading all versions above that and they fail to open up PixInsight.
Hmm... that is a question for the PI forum. I am not familiar with issues with your OS...so I cannot advise- but I can tell you, you do need to get up to the latest version. There are many significant ones- and many like this that you simply will not have.
I've left a comment on PixInsight Forum. No reply yet. The PixInsight screen comes up and shows "FATAL ERROR: INTERPROCESS COMMUNICATION ERROR". Hopefully someone at PixInsight forum can give me an answer tomorrow.
I have been informed from others that PixInsight has some problems with the new M1 chip. They said that deleting the “Starnet” file from PixInsight solves the problem. My question is if I do that will that be needed for your tutorials?
Everything is working normal again after removing starnet. I finished 2nd step of FastTrack. Moving on. Hopefully, PixInsight gurus can find fix in an update before I need it in tutorials.
