NSG and using WBPP LN frame for reference

Is there any benefit/detriment to using the integrated LN Reference frame generated by WBPP as the reference frame in NSG?
I get a decent result but the weights are very low because of the increased SNR of the LN frame.

  • I have a comparison of 1 image integrated (using single frame LN ref) vs 1 image (using WBPP 10 frame integrated LN reference). But the images are 100MB each and linear. Here are links to each:

    2 - 10 frame LN ref - https://1drv.ms/u/s!AiZtLjKNj7_4hCoiMfycOpVYxR05?e=wVkjmI

Both images are using the same 50x600s images in OIII.
The SNR is slightly higher in the image using the 10 frame LN ref.

I'm not sure if there is enough difference to worry about, but you can see a bit of a change in the fainter nebulosity and some in the brighter stuff.

  • This is an off-label usage...
I think it should be OK. The weights are relative- so no matter the number- it is the relationship with respect to one-another that matters.
