I have been watching your video set on processing NGC3199 from Horizons.  It seems that Pixinsight and even WBPP has changed a bit since the videos were made.  Its been fun trying to fit your processing into the new workflow.  One thing I have noticed.  In WBPP, the check box to select whether to include the master bias in the master dark seems to be missing and I cannot find it.  You make a big point of using this in video two of the set.  Any comment?

And sure enough. ,my RGB images have black speckles everywhere.

The masterdark that was given to me was pre-calibrated. This is not what I intended and it surprised me to say the least. Later as WBPP evolved the decision was made to simply make the script only accept uncalibrated darks. 

So the master dark that come with the NGC 3199 data are actually "thermal frames" since the bias has been removed. 

Is there a solution... I think so, but it is pretty lame. 

You would need to take the master dark frame (I think that is the issue) and add the bias (the masterbias frame) to it. Save this as a new file and load *this* file as the master dark. It will then contain the bias... which will be subtracted for purposes of dark frame optimization. LOL

I could go back and do this myself...I can fix the file that people download...but it would not match my explanation.

Thanks for your reply.  I actually  tried your suggestion.  But I don't know how  to load it as a "master" dark.  My feeble efforts had it loaded as a normal dark, bined 1x1.

You can add the word "master" to the file name (or put it in a folder called "master" just like you probably already have!
