Mosaic

Thank you for your instructive series on the Mosaic scripts.  I gave it a try on a two-panel image set of Eta Carina, recently available on telescope live.  Everything went well and I ended up with three fairly seamless b&w images.  The problem arose when I tried to form a color combination.  It errored out with a geometry error.  After some analysis, I determined that one of the images was one (1) pixel narrower than the other two???  Dynamic crop didn't work and the one pixel difference remained.  I tried trimming.  But that seems only to turn pixels black and not change the size of the image.  I finally got something to work using "Crop" not "Dynamic Crop".  It seems to give you control down to the pixel level.

Did I do something wrong?  Any comment?

  • Hmmm... I am not certain where the problem is. But if you do figure it out..let me know. It sounds like the very thing to avoid.

I am in the midst of this Mosaic thing..so more videos to come.

  • I did find a solution to the problem -- run the data through image solver with both distortion correction and advanced checked.  I then had images of equal size and channel combination had no problem.

Now if I could just figure out how to turn on these options in WBPP???
