Processing Comet Tracked Images
Most information on comet tracking seems to focus on processing comets where the stars were tracked. However, I am investigating mono filter techniques where one has tracked (eg 10Micron GM2000) the comet via the mount or seting the guide star on the comet. This produces very clean images of the comet with pronounced star trails. However, registration is problematic and one must still shoot some stars the normal star tracked method to have the star only image.
I am curious if anyone can suggest techniques for processing such a comet tracked set of images and residual star trail removal..
