What to do with SPCC, BXT, SXT, NXT and HDRMT Question

This video on processing the Orion nebula was most helpful especially since it included several new processes now available in Pixinsight.  The example was based on the use of narrow band images.  The section on the use of HDRMT and splitting up the RGB image into HSI components was one that I really found useful.  It is possible to use this with a OSC image as well?

Comments

  • This example was broadband images (not NB).
So the answer to your question is YES. This works with OSC data as well.

    Thank you for the feedback.

  • One more question on OSC processing as applied to this video.  Would you just process the OSC image only or would you create a synthetic luminance and RGB image and apply the same process as in the video.
  • I don't think a synthetic luminance is necessary now that BXT is here. Indeed, there is even a luminance mode of BXT.
