"Inverse lighthouse beam" pattern caused by vignetting as a result of the Petzval design

My Tak FSQ 85-EDX produces the so-called "inverse lighthouse beam" pattern on bright, large stars which has been attributed to vignetting as a result of the Petzval design. Is there a way to correct or reduce this look using PI?
