Is everyone using Narrowband images wrong?

Hi everyone,

I do understand, that when you image with LRGB filters, you get the brightness (L) and the color through combination of RGB. If I use a H-alpha filter for example, I saw formulas how to add it to the R channel. But isn't that wrong? If my H-alpha image is brighter on one pixel and darker on the other, it does not mean more or less R channel, it actually is the L channel of a very defined color (I don't know the RGB value for it, but it is not just R). Two questions to that:

1.) Am I simply wrong?
2.) If not, what would be the best approach to do it properly in PixInsight?

Thanks, Rainer
