Can't Drizzle separated OSC data in WBPP any longer (V2.5.3)

I have posted this issue a couple of other places with zero response. I have need to drizzle some undersampled data with a particular camera scope combination. I have found that separating the OSC data in WBPP, drizzling it there and then recombining into a color image with image combination gives me cleaner data. For example, if I choose to deconvolute the combined data this way I get no ringing. I get that I can do it the old fashioned way. The question is, why would this option be removed? Thanks

  • Hi Paul,

You are correct. I talked to Roberto about it- I think the issue is that with WBPP there is an order of operations issue which requires you to separate and integrate 3x the number of channel (3)- resulting in nine different files when done in automation. I didn't quite get the details... sorry, but it isn't available because of the way that WBPP is currently implemented. It would be possible to restructure things to accomplish what you want- and this might be done in the future.

For the moment, you should produce your separated images and then take the drizzle files (they are automatically generated) and create drizzle integrates outside of WBPP. It is just one more extra step... not too terrible.

  • Thanks and too bad.  Yes, I will do it the old fashioned way again when I need it.  Paul
