Hi everyone,
So I learned and tried deconvolution. First, I generate a PSF using the script which gives me this result:
I then obviously used it for deconvolution but I noticed that details became just brighter and they grow a little bit.
Unsatisfied, I start playing with parametric and I get (what I find) a better result.
(Remark: for comparaison purpose, I disabled deringing, mask and so on. Original is upper right, upper left is external PSF and bottom is parametric PSF)
Finally, here's settings I used:
What literally chocked me is the PSF, it's so different! I expected to be close to the one I generate using the script. My assumption was it used this function to understand how the light spreads and kinda reverse it to sharpen the details. But it appears that's not case! What did I missed? :)
Final note: the galaxy is M 101 taken with a 500mm telescope. So in reality, it's only a small portion of the full picture.
Many thanks in advance for answering. Regards;
François
