Your section on CosmeticCorrection in NGC3199 fails to start. I don't think it is my PC as everything else works. Please make the data available for both NGC3199 and Ou4.
Regarding the data- Ou 4 is not available to me to distribute. This is property of TelescopeLive. (However, you can get it from them and using a code from my gets you a discount.)
I will be distributing NGC 3199 soon once I finish the sections. I am in the middle of recording them now... so it will be soon.
You probably already know about this, but just in case not --I was watching your color mapping video for this project and remembered that somewhere in my reading I had encountered a script to "mix" narrowband images. Couldn't find it in the standard PI deployment but found it online....it is called SHO-AIP. Don't know how to use it, but I installed it and took a screenshot. Have you heard of this or used it?
No, I did not know about this.. I have just started doing NB imaging. My images are TERRBILE right now.
LOL. So, this script you show will mix in a straight linear fashion in the way I show with PixelMath by putting a multiplier by the image (the percentage). I do not think this allows for the variable multiplier I show- at least not based on the screen capture you show. It does look like a nice script to do the mix if you don't like using the expression editor in Pixel Math. Thank you for letting me know about this script!
You are very welcome. Hope you take this the right way....but it is good to see an expert instructor struggle once in a while (although I wouldn't call your images terrible).....after all the great things you teach and the great images, it teaches us the most important lesson of all: getting good at AP (or anything else) requires learning new things, trial and error, effort, failing and trying again, etc.
