Image Integration using a monochrome camera

Hello,
I just got into Astrophotography two months ago and bought PixInsight, and FastTrack training a few days ago. while I have been able to follow all of Adam Block's training (Fasttrack) videos I'm stumped at Image Integration. Using a monochrome camera I can't figure out what to do after Adam begins discussing this feature since only CCRs are mentioned. I've been trying different combinations and applying different settings, but I'm not able to figure out what to do next.
I love the slow, detailed method Adam uses, and while everything to this point is clear, I have no idea what's next. If anyone can point out what a monochrome user would do next I'd sure appreciate it. Before posting this I've watched other videos by Adam as well as scoured the internet but all that's done is made me even more frustrated.
Thank you,
Larry

  • Hi Larry,

Well, now I will let you in on my evil plan. FastTrack Training is just a tiny fraction...the bare minimum of information that hopefully whets your appetite for more. All of the information you, all of the answers are part of Fundamentals. Fundamentals is $180... but you have already invested $60 in it! Just use the code "fasttrack" and you can see all of the answer for $120.

In particular, the demonstration you want is part of the workflow examples I provide.

Technically you can figure out what to do if you look at the examples I have on YouTube as part of the WBPP sections. But, you will need to sit down and understand quite a few things. This is what Fundamentals explains.

    SIncerely,

  • Hi Adam,

So, to be clear, you're saying detailed workflows for a monochrome camera are in Fundamentals?
I just want to make sure I'll be able to complete the processing with the information therein. Not that the cost is that much, but I want to make the best use of my time.
If the workflows for a mono system are as detailed as the details were (for a osc) in Fastrack, I'll be purchasing the Photoshop step after completing Fundamentals.

    Thank you,

    Larry
  • Also, I use narrowband filters. Good ol' Ha, Sii and Oiii.
  • Yes, in the workflow sections I demonstrate in extraordinary detail the processing steps and you can follow along with the same data.
Regarding Narrowband... Fundamentals explains how the use the stuff you need to understand in order to do the NB workflow. However, Fundamentals does not have actual NB demonstrations (I do not consider it "fundamental")- the NB demonstrations are in Horizons.

    Thanks!
