I think neither really. PCC is used for color calibration of broadband images. It doesn't make much sense to "calibrate" narrowband data with arbitrary bandpasses and throughputs.
Instead you choose the channels and relative signal strengths for each channel.
This is what makes NB different and less constrained than broadband RGB.
It is also why I will be putting my NB examples in Horizons. People think this kind of processing is fundamental. It isn't. It might be common- but it IS NOT constrained by any methodology. This makes it more art than procedural workflow. I really do not think many imagers "get" this.
