Black dots on my stars when using drizzle integration

Hi,

When I use drizzle integration on some data I have of M31 I get these black dots on lots of my stars. They look to be about a pixel in size. Has anyone else seen this? Any ideas how to solve the problem?

Thanks,

Bernard

  • Hmmm... that is not the normal saturation issue. (Which was resolved a while ago.)
I suspect that the drizzle integration isn't rejecting as well (or in the same way) .  How many frames did you use? What is the value in the black dots. When you create the drizzle data, part of the information is the rejection algorithm and its settings. What algorithm did you use? Did you have the reject low range enabled? Even more fundamental.. you do see these black dots in your original data... correct? (that answer has to be yes)

    Lots of questions.
