What Next

I have completed the FastTrack lessons fairly quickly. It's nice to have all your astrophotography needs at your fingertips. I'm used to jumping around from software to software to get a similar result. So, that part is good. I am about 5 days into my trial version of PixInsight and I want to continue to learn to see if I want to continue with this software. Now that I have completed FastTrack what should I do next? I'll be honest, I am using a one shot color camera (ASI183 color pro) and I want to learn how to squeeze more and varied color out of my images. My image of M31 looks B&W. Also, from an artistic standpoint I'm not a big fan of reds. Where can I lean to replace reds with other colors? I am not ready to make the jump to monochrome. I find it easy to process them, but I want to completely learn the ins and outs of color first. Maybe I can get there from her, maybe I can't. Suggestions on Adams courses for my needs? Thanks

  • Paul,

My videos and content are geared towards understanding astronomical image processing. They are not necessarily goal orientated in terms of "what to do next." You obviously have particular preferences, and by understanding the concepts of image processing and the software, *you* will know what to do in order to adjust the color, contrast and other things that you want to render.

The idea behind FastTrack Training is that I offer a particular teaching style. Please do not assume others do it in the same way. This course is designed, more than anything else, to introduce my methodology in teaching. There is much more to learn- FastTrack is really quite "thin" in terms of real content. :)
If you are interested in this route- and want to learn about the power, vagaries and yes the minutiae of image processing...well Fundamentals is the next step. As you know, your purchase of FastTrack goes towards Fundamentals (using the code you were given when you purchased FT).

Great job on getting through the door!

  • Well, that is the answer I believe. You have so many options I needed to ask. Just to be clear my motivation is to create art from the night sky. Thanks. First I need to clearly figure how to save my stretch's. and will try to find the video's you referred to in my recent post.
