APASS Photometry Catalog Completeness (PCC) video

edited September 2021 in PixInsight
Adam,

Thanks for the info conveyed in this recent video. I have been using the AutoColor script for quite a while now, but am now wondering if that method is really rendering the best color balance. If I am understating correctly PMCC takes the true colors from the stars from the region imaged and uses them as reference points to get the applied RGB balance to be most true. Color Calibration just assumes all stars are white, which is probably not true. With Autocolor I don't know what is used. But with PMCC used this should yield the more natural results  for the star and the object of interest,

Any info on how PMCC, Color Calibration and Autocolor may differ may be of intertest.

Thanks,

John
